Being Practically Creative

:: Being Practically Creative - The Social Side of The PCQ ::

Do you incorporate something creative into most days? Share what you're doing or what you did today. Maybe you'll inspire someone else...

Today I added to a big doodle I started last night, using tips from the doodling discussion here. I really like it! I also worked on some writing.

What did you do?

Wow, it all sounds fabuloso, Nanc. I am getting ready for a damn hurricane here in the Gulf Coast area. I plan to do as much sleeping as possible and then eating and drinking of wine. Maybe once all of that has lost it's charm, I can do some creative things since there will be no power and, thus, no TV to distract me. This hurricane thing is kinda like a broken foot when you think about it. I guess you have to be REALLY creative to find silver linings. I don't know what I'm talking about...it's been a long day. Keep having fun!!!

Hi Suze

Good to read your comments on here. It's been sooooo quiet!

I think a bit of pre-hurricane nervous chatter is both natural and charming. I love your silver lining analogy. Let us know when you come through the eye of the storm!

Hope all goes well with your battening down of the hatches.

Catch up with you soon too.

Hi Nanc

Well done on the busy, positive outlook despite the obvious disadvantages of pain and restricted activities. I really hope you mend very soon and have no further adventures of this kind!

The book sounds exciting - you'll have to pass on a link for Amazon or wherever it is being promoted and I'll tried and get a British fanclub for you! Any publicity is good publicity, right?

Catch up with you soon.

P.S. We had sunshine today and I was inspired to prepare a load of fuschias cuttings to grow for friends. Who says I can't be creative at the moment! I think plant propogation counts, doesn't it?

Hehe!

Oh definitely, Mandi! And so does generosity! Thanks for your wishes and I'll be sure to let you all know when the book comes out.

Today I sent a short story off to get feedback. I'm proud to have a new story this far along so early (for me) in the new year. I'm thinking now of going back to the novel I began in November. I get addicted to thinking about characters and I already miss the ones in the story I just finished!

congratulations, nanc. I'm happy for you that you sent one off!!! It's so early in the year and just think--you are growing in your writing career!

Hmm, I hope the long period of quiet on this forum means that people have been just TOO creatively busy to post anything. : ) Anyway, I worked for a good portion of today and yesterday on a regency-style gown that I'm sewing, and I'm really happy with how it's coming along! (This is rare for me with sewing projects!). Just felt like sharing the creative high somewhere!
Cheers,
Krista

Hey Krista

Thanks for leaving a note - feels like this is a 'ghost town' at times?

I am really pleased that you are sewing and pleased with your progress!

I have been doing some journalism and three articles are now in print! I have been showing anyone and everyone because I am so proud of them!

Keep up the good work yourself and hope to see photos of your stuff on here soon!

I looked at some old brass charms I had and saw a different possibility. They went from being fishing basket charms to being textured components in a gemstone bracelet.

Sounds good to me!

Glad to see that you are using this website too! Would be good to have seen what this gemstone bracelet looks like.

I did a Photoshop tutorial today. It was a little frustrating, but I learned a lot! I'm going to try to do a few a week so that I can actually DO something with the program! : )
