Being Practically Creative

:: Being Practically Creative - The Social Side of The PCQ ::

Do you incorporate something creative into most days? Share what you're doing or what you did today. Maybe you'll inspire someone else...

Today I added to a big doodle I started last night, using tips from the doodling discussion here. I really like it! I also worked on some writing.

What did you do?

Today I went to a four hour introductory workshop on silk painting. Here's my scarf, still on the frame:

It was great fun and I can't wait to do another. Next Sunday I'll be doing an all-day course where we'll get into using a dye-resist to draw our design.

Last night I worked through a Photoshop tutorial for a space art technique. I was very pleased with the result and actually got to use my new graphics tablet (for something other than trying to get it to work). Hoping to try another one today.

Isn't it great when one of this 'ever so complex' programs becomes that little bit less inaccessible?

Hi

I am doing a visual journal for a new course I'm on 'Art as Therapy'. As first I didn't want to record my thoughts and feelings at all. Well, you know how it goes, two weeks later I have trouble putting the book down at all! I have been drawing (I don't draw), I have been writing down my thoughts (I don't do that either) and I'm not terrified of it anymore. Yay!

:-) those---in my humble opinion---are good changes!

Humble? Not you, surely? Lol!

Do you remember hearing this one... country and western style I do believe!

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
When I'm perfect in every way
I can't help but look in the mirror
Coz I get better looking each day!

To know me is to love me
I'm such an incredible 'man'!
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
But I'm doing the best that I can.

Hi Arlee

Wishing you lots of luck with your move. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

I can't imagine being as productive as you. The last month has disappeared in a haze of designer apathy. First my son's unexpected drama in hospital wore me out and then a 2500 word essay completely inhibited my other means of creative expression!

Catch up with you again soon.

Still playing with clay, finished a couple more tiles and then decided to make something a bit different! Still with clay but no transfer just a bit of freehand drawing and some clay added.

wow! I just love your vivid colours. I especially like the bottom one. Fantastical!

l am still dabbling in making clay tiles, here is a picture of my latest works, l have been making clay flowers and was inspired by what kind of pictures that they would fit , hence the blossom ones reminded me of a japanese theme and the other just a field of flowers!
