Spammers and other trolls

Hi. If someone notices a person on the site who's spamming or generally being a nuisance. Please send me a note pronto and I'll get rid of them. I don't want anyone bothered!

Becca Bartlett has ? left me a message, although I can not find it or her name amongest members however I have noticed she has left messages on quite a few other members sites. Is this spamming or nuisance, it might be quite innocent? Heather

Yes, this is a huge problem. I belong to several Ning.com networks and the Sploggers, comment spammers are out in full-force posting garbage advertising "ring-tones" and I've been forced to go and delete all their stuff at each site. It's really upsetting, but keep up the great work. Hang tough, we'll beat em'

Do you consider spamming leaving messages on others sites Heather? I mean if it is hello and we have something in common? I am only wondering before I get thrown out for writing to someone LOL

Hi, Dawn I will say Hi to everyone, I just wondered as a novice at the computer if someone leaves a message for you on your site and when you go to read it however there is nothing there and the same someone has done this to a number of other peoples sites as well . I just wanted to know if thats what a spammer and troll was? Heather

and Heather, maybe discretion on your complaints should be done privately, instead of publicly to embarrass or shame someone purposely for writing their excitement vigorously LOL

It would be more pleasant I agree , however if Becca Bartlett had left a email or was even a member of the P.C.Q. so you could correspond directly with her it would be a start Heather

Yes, it IS confusing. Becca was a "member" but "she" only joined in order to spam all our real members. When I realized this, I banned her. That erased all that she wrote and so left a blank message when originally it was an ad for ring tones or something. Anyway, no real harm done!

Hi, I keep getting notices of people adding comments to my page but when I click through the link sent to my email, I can't find ANY comments except some made last year! HELP! Mary L.
