Hi
I've neglected my webpage and noone reminded me to log in.
My news is that I passed my Fine Art Degree in the end!
The Certificate arrived to confirm the good news and that's brilliant!
In September I surprised myself and began a one day a week course in horticulture. It is held at a huge botanical g…

I have to offer my apologies to all my Ning groups, I joined in a fit of enthusiasm then found I couldn't devote as much time as I'd hoped to them, as a result I haven't been checking in or (even worse!) answering comments.
I've been having problems with my hands this year, and pain has kept my creativity to a very low level.

Hey Guys and Gals!
Thanks for all your lovely messages of support after the disappointment I had that my Fine Art Degree marks were referred. I did gain a First for my dissertation which is something to make me very proud!
I had feedback (in Fine Art jargon) that my research and development notes were not up to their standards and I can re-submit my sketchbooks in September if I want them to reconsider my grade. I must admit that my confidence has taken a beating and if I am to eat humble pie…

Let me introduce you to an important part of my life in Uni, Virginia.
In case you're reading this and wondering if I am totally deranged: the answer is probably yes!
I ventured into the theme of regaining a reputation for innocence. If someone loses their good reputation is it po…

Having tinkered around with phrasing and stuff here, if you click on the link, are the improved midi files for
Sian's Violin Concerto, written for a very talented young violinist in my junior orchestra.
They're still a very poor substitute for real instruments. I hope we get to record it at some point.
There should be cadenzas in first and last movements. Not sure whether to write them or leave them to Sian herself. They go w…

Everyone should be in a job that they like and that they are good at and the better that society places people in jobs that they are good at, the more we will all enjoy the productivity of our civilization. This is one of the basic tenets of Plato's Repub…

Many of the greatest artists in human history have complained about periods when they just were unable to create anything that they could be happy with. The depression states of some creative minds has been well-documented, but certainly not all creative minds have…

I love the blog. I love the palette pickers, and seeing other palettes picked. I love turning them into patterns with the pattern maker.

Yesterday was my birthday... I was woken early with a text message from a beloved friend so I couldn't moan... she loves me too! I am not sure that I really woke up the rest of the day though.
I had a morning appointment assessment for my university artwork with a complete stranger…

Off to London. Leaving the house at 4.30am! The train from Tiverton stopped at several stations on its way to Bristol Temple Meads where I took another train from platform 13 to London Paddington.
Leaving the house itself was a bit of a palaver, umming and aahing about whether or not to bring the laptop. Shall I? Shan’t I? I set off without it and went to get some cash out. Meanwhile I’d left the mobile at home. Then doubled back to get the mobile, which I'd left behind. Went on up the hill and…

When Dissertation Troubles Surrounded Me:
This is an appreciative letter to thank the people who provided pin-point and professional
dissertation help at the time when I was totally disappointed and had braced myself to meet the disaster regarding my PhD degree. It was the worst time of my life when I even thought of my dissertation disapproval.
I was busy working and handling my social life. You can say that I was hanging in bala…

I'm sure that the letting off steam is only a temporary feeling of relief when we feel unappreciated. Such aggrievations in life are just... well you know, the ultimate frustration. Let me share last week's horoscope for me and hope that we all think about it and take heed!
Have you noticed how people talk, patronisingly about 'dreamers'? The implication is that people with fanciful ideas are, somehow, second-class citizens. The 'grown-up world' it seems, persecutes such people and takes deligh…
