Hi everyone. Back again from my travels. Budapest as usual was fabulous, took oodles of photos again. Will try and get some uploaded soon. The name plates I painted for the clinic staff were received very well and I have been asked to do two more. So I must settle back down to my painting again soon. The weather here in UK has been pretty horrible, with more bad weather to come. Budapest was up in the high 90s! Hard to re-adjust. I was bitten by a 'beastie' while I was there, and am having a bad…

Hi again
July has begun and I have been busy researching for my dissertation. At least I was busy doing that until mid-week when my attention was diverted and it was Sunday again before I knew anything about it!
Is it just me or can any of you move mountains on sunny days and just want to hibernate on dark, rainy days?
I hope you are all that bit more creative than me this month. I have managed to help complete 3 jigsaws though! :-)
This image caught my imagination during my research - I pre…

Hi Everyone
I am very tempted to send a message to those on my friends list and say 'Are you ok - why are you soooooo quiet?'. Instead I am doing a blog and would love some feedback when you have a minute.

Have had a bit more time this morning, to browse the site. I guess it's been a busy time for a lot of people, site feels quiet. I know I have been busy but do hope things will settle down next month. I have managed to dabble a little with my glass painting, but feel that everything I do is very amateurish. It doesn't help having all my 'stuff' spread between two locations. Maybe in July and August I can move it all to one place. And it's always the tool or brush that i've left behind, that I wan…

Hello everyone. Just a brief visit. Wont really settle down till my next trip is out of the way. The last couple of months have been very busy. Had a fabulous time on the coach trip to Italy. Didn't want to come home! Have done nothing really arty again for a while, apart from taking hundreds of photos. Did do a couple of pictures when I got back from Scotland, but nothing since. Had my bike stolen from our new premises. Bike not a problem as hubby owns a bike shop!! but my bike was equipped wit…

I am starting to get burned out with painting. I don't want to...but have more failure than success. It's so frustrating to be able to draw anything I want to from my head but painting and color leave me in that state of "I don't know what to do next".
I am working on my illustration career and while there are pencil illustrators, jobs would be limited... my rep says I really need to get the color down.
In art school I did well - but that was oil paints and painting from life which I seem to ha…

Hi
Just a quick note to let you know that I won't be online until next month. I am off for a trip round Southern Ireland (the South West coast at least).
I look forward to our next photography challenge and I will try to share some of the views during my travels.

Hello everyone. Yes it's me. I'm back again, just briefly. Had an absolutely super time in Scotland. Weather was the best. Only one damp day which shrouded Mull in a mist of mystery and intrigue. Another visit is absolutely necessary! Skye was as usual out of this world. We had huge amounts of fun. We did bird watching and boat watching and deer watching and motor bike watching and scenery watching and castle watching and the funniest of all I have proof of my "What does a Scotsman wear under hi…

Another week has whizzed by. Am really shattered. We took possession of the new shop and flat just over a week ago.. Thankfully we have nearly transformed it into how we want it. Been busy knocking down walls, and dry lining a room. Hanging curtains and building units. Painting ceilings and walls and hoovering and hoovering and hoovering. Not getting home until late in the night. Hopefully we can start moving bikes down this week. There are about 150 bikes which we have on display plus all the b…

Hello everyone. Have been off the scene for a while. Last week was so eventful. it left me quite lost for a day or two. We took possession of our new shop and flat on Tuesday. Went down in the evening to have a look and to start the alterations. Returned again the following evening to find that some-one had stolen the roof! Hubby and I pretty dumb struck. Called the police etc. The following day, just before forensics arrive! hubby discovered the answer. It transpires that the previous owners ab…

Busy at the moment creating a miniture symphony for the Junior Orchestra, but in the tradition of Ralph Vaughan Williams and his English Folk Song Suite I'm arranging a patchwork of sea shanties, so no original melodies in this one! When it's done I'll put part of it up.

A strange sort of week. A bit involved earlier in the week with my elderly neighbour. I am determined to get her into as many social groups as I can, so that she is not dependant on me for friendship and doctors visits, etc. I did paint a masterpiece in the end. Well, I think it's a masterpiece! Had a long drive down to Pembrokeshire to look after one of my daughters for the afternoon, while she recovered from a 'endoscopy'. Was very pleased that Mandi joined me in this venture. So nice to have…

I've spent time in hubbies shop, writing letters and reading. Built a couple of bikes, but basically chilled. Got involved with taking my neighbour to 'deaf club' last night. I can't get over having been a child in the south. April is a wonderful month where I grew up, in Texas. Even though where I live now, April arrives with only more of the same, I can't help but feel better just because it's April.
Today we are having snow. erk.
Oh well. Hope for Spring springs eternal.

Just had a fabulous walk down at Burry Port old harbour. Beautiful day. Not too cold. Knees gave up after an hour! Never mind. The sun and sea and sky and air was good for my soul. (and my dog) (and my elderly neighbour!) Took a few photos, not quite the same views as Mandi's''''(still don't know where this little critter (') fits! The waves were crashing against the cliffs over on the Gower. Fantastic. Will try and upload a photo or two.

My name is Heather or so I think? if can remember through the fibro fog
Or is it for so long I’ve been invisible slowly fading into oblivion
Slowly ,Excruciatingly slowly, painfully dissolving from view,

no longer needed or used becoming the unstuck glue
Once I was needed, depended on, to help make sure the day was carried through.

Narrowing it down - the first four are the best part of the story (imo), the first three are the best of the best, and, the first I guess is where you should start ;) But it isn't my favorite or the most influential... Leto is my favorite character and one hub o…

I'm working on some mosaic pieces. It seems I can't just work on one at a time; I have to do at least two pieces at a time. I'm not sure why, but it doesn't matter. My mantra is always that if I'm working on ANYthing, it's better than working on absolutely nothing. I already have lots of tiles because I did a bench top for an auction a few years ago and there were lots of leftovers. But I found myself buying a few more (thousand) bits and pieces anyway!
