home again

Hi everyone. Back again from my travels. Budapest as usual was fabulous, took oodles of photos again. Will try and get some uploaded soon. The name plates I painted for the clinic staff were received very well and I have been asked to do two more. So I must settle back down to my painting again soon. The weather here in UK has been pretty horrible, with more bad weather to come. Budapest was up in the high 90s! Hard to re-adjust. I was bitten by a 'beastie' while I was there, and am having a bad… Continue

Hello again

Have had a bit more time this morning, to browse the site. I guess it's been a busy time for a lot of people, site feels quiet. I know I have been busy but do hope things will settle down next month. I have managed to dabble a little with my glass painting, but feel that everything I do is very amateurish. It doesn't help having all my 'stuff' spread between two locations. Maybe in July and August I can move it all to one place. And it's always the tool or brush that i've left behind, that I wan… Continue

Just a flying visit again. Need to move everything to new premises then I could get on site every day. Only 'arty' thing this week is more glass painting. I will photograph and add to page. Will play catch up in a day or two. Continue

Back again.

Hello everyone. Just a brief visit. Wont really settle down till my next trip is out of the way. The last couple of months have been very busy. Had a fabulous time on the coach trip to Italy. Didn't want to come home! Have done nothing really arty again for a while, apart from taking hundreds of photos. Did do a couple of pictures when I got back from Scotland, but nothing since. Had my bike stolen from our new premises. Bike not a problem as hubby owns a bike shop!! but my bike was equipped wit… Continue

I'm Back Again.

Hello everyone. Yes it's me. I'm back again, just briefly. Had an absolutely super time in Scotland. Weather was the best. Only one damp day which shrouded Mull in a mist of mystery and intrigue. Another visit is absolutely necessary! Skye was as usual out of this world. We had huge amounts of fun. We did bird watching and boat watching and deer watching and motor bike watching and scenery watching and castle watching and the funniest of all I have proof of my "What does a Scotsman wear under hi… Continue

Try again

Another week has whizzed by. Am really shattered. We took possession of the new shop and flat just over a week ago.. Thankfully we have nearly transformed it into how we want it. Been busy knocking down walls, and dry lining a room. Hanging curtains and building units. Painting ceilings and walls and hoovering and hoovering and hoovering. Not getting home until late in the night. Hopefully we can start moving bikes down this week. There are about 150 bikes which we have on display plus all the b… Continue

It's me again

Hello everyone. Have been off the scene for a while. Last week was so eventful. it left me quite lost for a day or two. We took possession of our new shop and flat on Tuesday. Went down in the evening to have a look and to start the alterations. Returned again the following evening to find that some-one had stolen the roof! Hubby and I pretty dumb struck. Called the police etc. The following day, just before forensics arrive! hubby discovered the answer. It transpires that the previous owners ab… Continue

Masterpiece

A strange sort of week. A bit involved earlier in the week with my elderly neighbour. I am determined to get her into as many social groups as I can, so that she is not dependant on me for friendship and doctors visits, etc. I did paint a masterpiece in the end. Well, I think it's a masterpiece! Had a long drive down to Pembrokeshire to look after one of my daughters for the afternoon, while she recovered from a 'endoscopy'. Was very pleased that Mandi joined me in this venture. So nice to have… Continue

Non constructive

[ Draft ]Hello everyone. Just to let you all know that so far I have had a completely non constructive week. Mandi will be pleased because she will know I have been taking things easy. I've spent time in hubbies shop, writing letters and reading. Built a couple of bikes, but basically chilled. Got involved with taking my neighbour to 'deaf club' last night. It's very difficult being a Gemini. One twin is telling me how 'noble' and 'good' I am being by helping some-one with difficulties, and the… Continue

home again

Just had a fabulous walk down at Burry Port old harbour. Beautiful day. Not too cold. Knees gave up after an hour! Never mind. The sun and sea and sky and air was good for my soul. (and my dog) (and my elderly neighbour!) Took a few photos, not quite the same views as Mandi's''''(still don't know where this little critter (') fits! The waves were crashing against the cliffs over on the Gower. Fantastic. Will try and upload a photo or two. Continue

Time Change

Sunday morning. Up late. Weather better to-day. Yesterday was really wet, windy and cold. Still haven't got into anything really 'arty' just recently though I did help the grandchildren with some glass painting on Thursday. I have a feeling that i'm not really going to knuckle down to anything until hubbies shop has been moved, and visitors come and gone etc. But, we'll see.Right now I must put some washing on and then walk my little dog. Back later. Continue

Easter Over

Easter has come and gone. Quite a cold one for us in the UK. The Eastern side of the country have had it bad. We on the west have had sunshine and cold. Did manage one bikejoring trip yesterday. Absolutely nothing arty over the holiday period. Was on standby for help in hubbys shop. Spent some time with Heather and family over the week-end. Had lots of fun watching several of the group creating music with bottles! Have just spent half an hour browsing all the photos on this site. Now I need to g… Continue

Inspiration

Have just added two of my poems on the 'Inspiration' group. Was going to watch the 'Parade' of horses in town to-day, but decided the weather was too iffy for me to be hanging around of street corners! Decided to come on to site instead. I haven't put much input in over the past week or two as health hasn't been the best. Hopefully I can join in a bit more now for a while. Continue

Easter

Happy Easter to one and all. Am having real fun gorging on chocolate. A box of and an egg! Still didn't do anything arty last week, but I did make my elderly neighbour an Easter card this morning, so I hope that counts. Last night we went for a drive to the Gower penninsula. Very very windy and hailstones. We could see snow on the hilltops at Neath. Cant do much to-day as my right shoulder is ccompletely seized up. Excrutiatingly painful. A friend did some massage and I now stink of Tiger balm!!… Continue

Back again

It's been a while I know. Last week was not too good so did nothing really constructive. Have to thank Mandi big time, for putting up with me last week while I was down in the doldrums. A few things have been sorted out now, so I can start the climb out from the miseries'! Thanks Mandi. As if you dont have enough to do! Pish. Dissitation easy peasy. I jest. But I know you will manage it okay. Things are going wrong again to-day. I think my dishwasher has decided to pack up. Not good news for me… Continue

a week gone

Another week gone by. Have to think hard about what I did.. Spent one day around the shops with my youngest daughter. Not a good thing to do!! Legs have suffered since. Met up with Mandy for lunch the same day. Had the gas engineers out about a water leak in the system, Spent nearly a whole day trying to sort various things out for an elderly neighbour. Went to a 'quiz' night last night. We came third!! Not bad considering we dont have a good track record! Went to measure up the premises we are… Continue

If only

Saturday afternoon. Had a hellish week. Have spent most of it in tears and on pain killers. Have also managed between bouts to do some painting. I finished the name plate for Julius in Budapest. Did another one for a neighbour of mine. Have also just started a 360 degree oil painting of our beautiful coastal area. I know I wont do it justice but it's fun all the same. We are in for the 'lowest low' on record this week-end. Might help to explain the rough time i'm having this week as I am sure al… Continue

A bit better

Wednesday afternoon and on the up again. For how long I wonder? Have had lots of contact on another site with fellow fibromyalgia sufferers. Nice to know I am not on my own with it. I had had a couple of quite good weeks and it is very easy to forget just how much pain we suffer, but with horrible regularity back it comes to kick us down again. So if anyone has any spare limbs they would like to swap!!?? Have started packing up my house ready for our move. Am leaving my 'studio' room till last.… Continue
