A very cool online color resource

http://www.colourlovers.com/blog I love the blog. I love the palette pickers, and seeing other palettes picked. I love turning them into patterns with the pattern maker. Continue

Important idea for Group creators and all active participants

Email! How many times have I been a participant in this scenario? Person asks question in a group. Weeks or months later someone stumbles upon question with a response which includes, oh sorry, just noticed this question! It happens for all of us, and it would be so nice to have a feature which would alert us when there is some activity in a specific area of the site, without us having to check each day/week/moment. IT EXISTS. I've been using this tool for a couple of months, and am just now… Continue

Artist Opportunities

A flickr friend referenced the hip tshirt trend and funny blog in a recent flickr upload. I'd never been to threadless, but wow, looks kind of interesting! Submit ideas, score other designs, some cute $5 shirts on clearance, as well... Are you familiar… Continue

Any of you interested in this (next week)

http://www.conversationweek.org/homepage/ Should we try to get a PCQ group? Should we try to use an online method? My friend Kate Crisp, who thinks a great deal about online group dynamics and facilitating conversations with fewer visual cues, is organizing a couple of conversations in the MUVE second life, and for those of you online there, you are welcome to join one. I think I am organizing one f2f at my Y, too. Continue

Visualizations

Are you familiar with this great service from IBM, Many Eyes? If you have seen the tag clouds that New York Times generates for political speeches, you have seen one of the visualizations available.
Many Eyes is a bet on the power of human visual intelligence to find patterns. Our goal is to "democratize" visualization and to enable a new social kind of data analysis. Jump right to our visuali

Sending your art into the world

Do you Squidoo? Everyone's an expert on something Build a Lens, or two or three, on Squidoo. Sort of between a web page and a blog, it can be an aggregator of resources, it can be more static than a blog. Lenses are ranked, so the dormant ones tend to fall down the list. Lenses have the charm of a top ten list, a taste and a direction to go for more exploration. I've created them for organizations I've been affiliated with, but now I'm working on a… Continue

La Reve: Lash Xevious' dream

From Lash's flickr bio:
I'm a resident in the Grid (Second Life). One day an island spilled out of my brain and I called it La Reve. It's been described as a place where some Goths used to live until they were ambushed by Pixies and slain to death. I would so love to see a reenactment of that.

Silent

Silent, is the name of an SL sim, or island, that is created in black and white, and the time of day set to an eternal midnight. It is a wonderful combination of whimsical doodles and photorealistic graphics. It is such a compelling example of an immersive art experience.
