Being Practically Creative

:: Being Practically Creative - The Social Side of The PCQ ::

Have had a bit more time this morning, to browse the site. I guess it's been a busy time for a lot of people, site feels quiet. I know I have been busy but do hope things will settle down next month. I have managed to dabble a little with my glass painting, but feel that everything I do is very amateurish. It doesn't help having all my 'stuff' spread between two locations. Maybe in July and August I can move it all to one place. And it's always the tool or brush that i've left behind, that I want to use!! Hope to have more Budapest photos to add in a couple of weeks. Bye for now

Well Hello to you too!

I am finding the site too quite and said as much in today's blog!

Nancy, I hope your holiday does wonders for you. Are you travelling or just taking a time out?

I agree about the word 'amateurish' and how it grabs us all at times. Have you seen what curators decide to put up in galleries = hehe. Keep painting or doing your 'thing', I say!

P.S. I am attaching some 'artwork' done at one of the sessions I had for the elderly - my 'student' was delighted with her efforts and so was I.

cheers nuanc. A little encouragement goes a long way. I did a picture for a friend last week (a name plate) again a bit amateurish, but she was absolutely over the moon with it. I suppose to a 'non artistic' person, it's like receiving a Rembrandt! The fun of the name plates is making up the picture as I go along, it sort of developes and mostly they are fun pictures. This one was an otter (her favourite animal) catching a fish, with two other fishes peering out of the water looking very alarmed! Perhaps this is what I should continue with, rather than the glass painting? See what mood takes me later to-day. Will be off line for a week or so as my next visit to Budapest has arrived. Fly out on Sunday. Maybe by the time I get back, more people will have been on. Was disappointed to find the poetry corner very quiet. Bye for now.

Hi rachel,
I really appreciate reading your thoughts. the site IS extremely quiet, isn't it? I am actually in the middle of a holiday and have been having my own problems getting on the internet so I'm on this morning for a short time. I hope that you continue with your glass painting because that "amateurish" word rolling around in your mind is something you must doggedly ignore! We all have our doubts but they are no more real than any other thought. Keep going!!!
