I'm working on some mosaic pieces. It seems I can't just work on one at a time; I have to do at least two pieces at a time. I'm not sure why, but it doesn't matter. My mantra is always that if I'm working on ANYthing, it's better than working on absolutely nothing. I already have lots of tiles because I did a bench top for an auction a few years ago and there were lots of leftovers. But I found myself buying a few more (thousand) bits and pieces anyway!

Aren't they lovely and numerous!
I'm doing the top of a wooden box:

And a small frame that I painted in layers of pink and green:

I bought a neat thing at Bed, Bath and Beyond. It's a turntable that's really meant for a kitchen pantry but I'm using it in the studio to turn objects as I work on them. It was only $14.95!!! So far it's been great!

I like taking all sorts of different things and people and putting them together in new ways, so this mosaic business is a good metaphor for me.
